Kozy Cruiser Frame
After recent success with the Classic Kozy frame we reinvested our earnings into T-shirts, new branded boxes and the Kozy Cruiser style. The Cruiser style is very similar to the Classic Kozy but with a more squared off look, thinner frame, and 7 new colors.
Designing the Kozy Cruiser frame
The thinner style proved challenging because it could not withstand our multiple stress tests. The stress tests included common everyday wear and tear like sitting on the frame, pulling the arms apart into a straight line, dropping, and twisting. Unfortunately, the front of our prototype did not hold up for the final test. In order for the frames to pass our tests we reinforced the bridge to support any and all everyday wear.
Choosing the colors
One of my favorite features about acetate (the frame material) is the endless color selection to pick from. When choosing colors, we knew the havana was very popular for the Classic Kozy. We also received many customer requests for a clear frame. We decided to add a brown crystal and tortoise frame to our new Cruiser collection along with several other crystal colors. Finally, we had to choose black for a more professional look and comply with military regulations.
Finally the lens!
We chose a polarized lens for every frame color in the Cruiser style. By purchasing polarized lenses in bulk we were able to offer polarized lenses for a lower cost. All of our lenses come directly from Zeiss who is the industry leader in optical lenses.
